The Reading Window

PROGRAM COST -- $600 TEACHES A CHILD TO READ

What we mean is that $600 funds the workshop time that forms a preschooler into a lifetime reader -- a person who habitually seeks out and enjoys words on a page. We have found that a child entering the classroom with this mindset in place is equipped to learn and flourish there for the next twelve years.

As a non-profit, our goal is never to turn a child away for inability to pay, Your generous donations help fund Reading Window scholarships for children coming from low income homes.

No doubt you've read and heard there are people in our society who have gone to school but are functionally illiterate. Often these people are unable to read when they try, because they so dislike the reading experience.

At The Reading Window, the children's work is imbued with quiet enjoyment from day one, with occasional peaks of delight.

Making a preschooler into a reader usually takes only six weeks--one session of private Reading Window tutoring each day, five days a week.

Since our facility (provided rent free by the County of Louisa) has space for tutoring up to four children at one time, we are looking for funds to train more tutors in the use of Reading Window technology.

A photocopier, most of our books and many of our supplies have been donated.

Please support The Reading Window project with your tax-deductible donation. Any amount helps us save needy children from failure.
